Dachshund Lovers of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all volunteer, foster based, no-kill rescue group for Dachshunds. We are dedicated to the belief that helping pets helps people, and that any life is too precious to throw away when a bit of love can save it!

We are small by choice, and prefer a foster based rescue rather than shelter or boarding situation because it enables us to care for the Dachshunds in our homes alongside our own pets. We can better socialize them, as well as get to know their needs.
 
Dachshund Lovers of Texas also believes that those with special needs and senior citizens (people as well as dogs) benefit from a healthy, loving relationship between the owner and pet. We strive to accommodate a diversity of needs and ages in our pets as well as in those with whom they are placed.
