![]() February 16, 2012 - We have sad news to share. Oscar's long and difficult struggle with his devastating illness has come to an end. Sadly, despite all the efforts to find a treatment that would help him, Oscar crossed the rainbow bridge today. Thank you to everyone whose thoughts, prayers, and generous donations helped him gain precious time to be with those who love him. Thanks also to the veterinary caregivers who were always there to help. It's been a long year since we got Oscar, thin, weak and starving, from the shelter. In that time he has overcome several medical crises, and his quality of life remained good until the end. Oscar will be missed but it is a source of comfort to know that he had the opportunity to be loved and to share his time with us. ![]() January 13, 2012 - Alani was another long-term foster. She’d had and recoverd from a major hernia, internal infections, and a host of other medical problems. Alani was never a low-maintenance girl, but she was a loving one who always bounced back. However, that could only last so long. Eventually Alani passed from heart failure during an unavoidable surgical procedure. Sadly, despite knowing that Alani was a high-risk candidate, there was no choice. Rest in peace, Alani, and may you know no pain and much love. ![]() January 12, 2012 - Connor was a long-term foster who came to us as an elderly gentleman with painful hips from a previous injury that had healed badly, deafness and near blindness, and several other issues. Connor was an independent kind of guy, but he liked being fussed over as long as he was in the mood. He was never very demanding- in all the time we had him Connor almost never complained. Unfortunately, as he aged, Connor’s pain could no longer be managed. Connor had to cross the Rainbow Bridge where he will no longer feel any pain. ![]() December 23, 2011 - It is with great sadness and difficulty that we share the latest update on Milo's status. Milo experienced complications that were far more serious than initially expected. A scan indicated that he had experienced far more neurological compression and damage than the surgery could repair. With all the factors working against him Milo was given little or no chance of survival. We felt that we had no choice but to let Milo cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and with no discomfort. Milo passed away earlier this afternoon with the merciful assistance of his caring veterinary surgeon. Thank you to all of you for your prayers and positive thoughts. Although his time was far too short, Milo knew much love. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
